The Relocation Process

Families relocating to the Indianapolis area provide a major emphasis in Indianapolis real estate. We have had the good fortune to assist a large number of families in locating homes in all parts of Indianapolis and in every suburban area.

Families who are new to the area usually have questions and concerns beyond those of local buyers. Requests commonly include: good schools; family neighborhood; and proximity to work. Additional requests often include: new construction; basement; large yard; mature trees; and areas which are appreciating.

The three most common requests which we receive are:  schools, basements, and trees.

We maintain a file on each school system in Indianapolis and the suburbs, and interviews with school officials are easily arranged. We also maintain files for a large number of builders in all price ranges, and interviews with builders can be scheduled to discuss styles, floor plans, lot selection, and pricing. In addition, recent sale prices and trends in prices in each area are available for examination.

About half of the families with whom we work purchase a new home, and about half purchase an existing home.

Being full-time agents with the F. C. Tucker Company affords us several advantages in working with families who are relocating. Available real estate and relocation services include: our relocation network to assist in the sale of your present home; coordination of any need for short-term housing; provision of color photos of homes prior to a visit; and assistance in locating employment opportunities for a family member.

A phone call from a mortgage broker is often useful to answer any financing questions and to pre-qualify.

Indiana has buyer agency. Therefore, the real estate agent with whom you work will represent your interest in locating real estate to purchase. If you purchase real estate, the agent will be compensated by receiving a percentage of the commission paid by the seller. You, as purchaser, will not be responsible for paying any fee to the agent. You will be given a copy of the F. C. Tucker Company, Inc. Consumer Handbook explaining buyer agency.

Working with families who are relocating is a specialization in the real estate profession. It is a specialization with great rewards: the rewards of seeing families happy with every aspect of the total relocation process.
